Our Mission

 

To ensure that all Deaf Senior Citizens achieve their maximum potential through collective interdependence, increased independence, productivity, and integration into the community.

Our Goals

 

  • Create an inclusive one-stop community center for Deaf Seniors and all persons with hearing loss.

 

  • Establish independent / assisted living options with communication needs for aging Deaf Seniors and individuals with hearing loss.

Mission Statement

 

HDSCLF is a non-profit organization formed for the following purposes:

 

  • To provide a comprehensive program that meets the social, educational, health, recreational and social, educational, health, recreational and social service needs of persons 60 years of age and older.

 

  • Help maintain the dignity and independence of Seniors living in the community.

Our Activities

 

  • Information & Referral:

Disseminate information, provide referral and technical assistance on topics related to seniors and Deafness.

 

  • Social Gathering, Life Enrichment & Craft:

We offer programs for seniors to enjoy while having fun and learning.

 

  • Day Trip:

Harris County provides monthly day trip/tours away from home to help mediate feelings of loneliness or social isolation.

  • HDSCLF Tidbits:

A monthly publication highlighting updates on the HDSCLF, and what other Deaf Seniors are up to (at the state and national level).
